As a parent I'm okay with this as an aid for understanding the wider world of sexual awareness. There's no requirement to have seen the series, which I think is not so mild. Fans of the series might be able to link a subject to a familiar character, however the real content in the book is certainly accessible with no prior knowledge. Being themed, this might make the book appear less instructional and less awkward to have hanging around.
